I'm doing power quality disturbances analysis. and i need to do the signal decomposition into different level by using wavelet.

Then the energy of the detail information at each decomposition level has to be calculated.

But i have to find the energy difference at each decomposition level in order to identify different kinds of power quality disturbances,which is the difference of the energy Ei(energy of the detail information at decomposition level i) with the corresponding energy of the reference (normal) waveform at this level.

i really hope you can help me, cause i having problem on how to build the code to calculate the energy.
